Summer is back?

Apparently I spoke too soon...because this could not have been the first weekend of fall. It was 106 degrees today! As much as I'm looking forward to a crisp fall afternoon, the beach was absolute perfection this morning.

Mad Men Halloween

I know I'm a little late on the bandwagon, but I'm newly infatuated with Mad Men. The aesthetic of this show is fantastic...especially for someone (ahem, me) who loves almost everything about the 1960s (American culture in the sixties is one of the reasons I became a social science teacher!). I can't get enough! So, I've decided I'm going to try and rock Christina Hendricks' character, Joan, for Halloween. Now I just need to find a vintage shop and a bottle of red hair dye!

Sunday Sweet Potato

Decided to make some easy and healthy baked sweet potato fries tonight!

Sweet Potato + Rosemary + Cinnamon + Olive Oil

Bake for 15 minutes at 450 Degrees

Fall Fashion

Ok, so it's almost fall...which of course has me thinking about fall fashion. I may have already made a few "back to school" shopping trips to J.Crew (aka mecca), but am still feeling like I need/want something else...something special. Maybe a new pair of leather boots or a pretty sweater. In the meantime, these incredibly chic Italian men are having me think denim! What are you adding to your fall wardrobe this year?

Arrivederci Estate

It's back to school time! And even though I'm ecstatic to begin my first year teaching, I feel as though I did not get enough time to play in the sand this summer. Hopefully I can sneak in a few weekend beach days before the fall temperatures begin to cool.
