Feliz Navidad

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your holidays are filled with much gratitude, laughter and love. Here's a little photo of our Christmas Eve sandman! It definitely has not been a white winter here at home, but I can't complain! Now off to see what Santa has left under the tree...

Pacific

Final papers/presentations/exams are complete, and my man is coming home tonight! Here's to spending much more time in the Pacific these next two weeks...

Eco/Budget Friendly Wrapping!

A few of the gifts I've ordered online arrived today! So, I decided to repeat my eco/budget-friendly wrapping method from last year...Yup, newspaper and recycled ribbon! Not only is this method better for the environment and easy on the pocket book (It's practically free!), it's much more interesting than the generic snow flake wrapping paper you'd find in any Hallmark store! I like to match the newspaper page with the person (i.e. sports page for my brothers' gifts)!

Kathy's Song

I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft and warm continuing
Tapping on my roof and walls
And from the shelter of my mind
Through the window of my eyes
I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets
To England where my heart lies
My mind's distracted and diffused
My thoughts are many miles away
They lie with you when you're asleep
And kiss you when you start your day
And a song I was writing is left undone
I don't know why I spend my time
Writing songs I can't believe
With words that tear and strain to rhyme
And so you see I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you
And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of you go I

Kathy's Song has always been one of my Simon&Garfunkel favorites. It's beauty is even more relevant on a rainy day like today...

Gratitude

Rain is falling outside my window at the moment!

Last night we had a little holiday get together at Sol Grill in Newport Beach. Sitting and laughing with the people I spend most of my time with these days (i.e. school), helped me to realize how incredibly grateful I am! I understand Thanksgiving was last month, but I think the theme for this holiday season will be (maybe always should be) gratitude. So much thanks to all of those who choose to spend their time and laughter with me! (baci)

City

Oh, I love these! If I lived in the city, these would definitely be hanging somewhere in my apartment!

Disco Tonight!

It's disco night at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa, and these Guy Aroch images are definitely helping me to get in the mood for some disco/funk fever! Now if I could only borrow one of these lovely ensembles...
